Gaia Community cordially invite you to The Longest Night, an annual celebration of the Winter Solstice. The Longest Night is a decadent masked ball, inspired by Jacqueline Carey's _Kushiel_ series. This year's Ball will be held on December 18th, 2009, from 9:00 PM until 1:00 AM, at the historic El Torreon Ballroom in midtown Kansas City, MO.

Light refreshments are included in the cost of a ticket. Beer and wine will be sold at the event.

Car troubles

Here's what's going on with Lex (1999 Honda Civic LX):

Knocking sound coming from exhaust
Slow acceleration
Increased vibration in the passenger compartment
Check Engine light comes on and will sometimes flash
OBD-2 check at Advance Auto reports:
P0301: Cylinder 1 misfire
P0302: Cylinder 2 misfire
P0303: Cylinder 3 misfire
P0300: Multiple misfire
P1399: Ignition system misfire

Plugs are old, but not significantly damaged or fouled.

Having talked with my father about this, he thinks it might be the fuel filter. I talked to a guy at O'Reilly Auto Parts who thinks it might be the MAP sensor. The guy who ran the OBD-2 scan at Advance Auto doesn't think the MAP sensor is very likely.

This thread over on honda-tech suggests that it could be the MAP sensor. Or the fuel filter (I'm assuming that a clogged fuel filter could cause insufficient fuel pressure). Or the distributor/plug wires. Or a couple of other things.

What do y'all think?

I had just been riding Cyclone instead of driving, but the weather is getting to the point where I really can't do that. :(

ETA: Following elizilla's advice, I started by replacing the fuel filter. That didn't help, but it was only a $20 part and not too terribly hard to replace. Next step is to replace the plugs and wires.

ETA2: I tried to pull the MAP sensor last night but the screws securing the sensor to the throttle body are too beat up for me to get off. I'm taking it to Imports Only to let them have a crack at it, 'cos my folks have told me that they'll help me out with this.

ETA3: I am embarrassed. I took it to Imports Only. They replaced the plugs and plug wires. It runs again. I could have done this myself. Note to self: CHECK THE OBVIOUS!
